4. Automated decision-making
In accordance with Australian Privacy Principles 1.7–1.9 (commencing 10 December 2026), we disclose the following about our use of computer programs in decision-making:
4.1 Farsight™ platform
Farsight™ uses computational models to generate lifecycle cost forecasts, capital expenditure projections and benchmarking analyses for property assets. These models process asset data (condition ratings, component specifications, replacement costs, useful life estimates) entered by authorised users. The outputs inform—but do not solely determine—strategic asset management decisions made by our clients and their advisers.
4.2 AI-assisted tools
DC2O may use artificial intelligence tools to assist with content creation, data analysis and internal research. Our use of AI is governed by our AI Use Policy. Where AI tools process personal information, they do so under human oversight and do not make autonomous decisions that significantly affect individuals’ rights or interests.
4.3 Website analytics
We use Google Analytics to collect aggregated, de-identified data about website usage. This data is used to improve site performance and content. No decisions that significantly affect individuals’ rights or interests are made using this data.
5. Disclosure of personal information
We may disclose personal information to:
- Service providers who assist us in delivering our services (hosting, analytics, email platforms)
- Professional advisers (legal, accounting, insurance)
- Government authorities or regulators where required by law
- Your employer or organisation where they have engaged us on your behalf
We do not sell personal information. Where we disclose personal information to overseas recipients (for example, cloud service providers), we take reasonable steps to ensure compliance with the APPs.

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. Measures include encrypted data transmission (TLS/SSL), access controls, and regular review of our security practices. The Farsight™ platform is hosted on secure infrastructure with role-based access controls.
8. Data retention
We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, or as required by law. When personal information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it.
