DC2O Artificial Intelligence Use Policy

Version 1.0  |  Effective January 2026  |  Applies to: All DC2O consulting engagements and Farsight platform  |  Review cycle: Annual

Section 1

Our position on AI

DC2O uses artificial intelligence tools to enhance the quality, efficiency and accuracy of our asset management consulting and lifecycle cost modelling work. This policy sets out how we use AI, what we use it for, what we do not use it for, and the human oversight that governs every AI-assisted output.

AI enhances our practice. It does not replace the expertise, methodology or accountability that our clients engage
us for. Every AI-assisted output that enters a client engagement is reviewed, validated and stood behind by DC2O’s practitioners.

Section 2

What DC2O uses AI for

Section 3

Governing principles

1

Human oversight at every step—no AI-assisted output enters a client engagement without review and validation.

2

Verification against reference library—every AI-derived data point cross-referenced against DC2O’s 500+ reference library.

3

Client data protection—client information never processed through public AI platforms. AI used only for general knowledge tasks.

4

Transparency on request—DC2O will always disclose which elements were AI-assisted and how validated.

5

Continuous review—policy reviewed annually, updated as practice and tools evolve.

Section 4

What this means for clients

Your data is protected

DC2O does not use your organisation’s data in any
AI tool.

Our outputs are validated

Every deliverable reviewed and validated by practitioners.

The methodology is unchanged

Component-level modelling, Monte Carlo envelopes, benchmarking from real project data, not altered by AI.

You can ask us about it

Questions answered directly and fully. Transparency is part of professional standard.

Section 5

DC2O’s view on AI in the sector

AI will materially improve the quality and speed at which asset management intelligence can be developed and maintained.
The ability to research, structure and validate building component data at scale, and to continuously update lifecycle cost models as new information emerges, represents a genuine step forward for the sector. DC2O is committed to adopting these tools where they demonstrably improve outcomes for our clients.

But AI will not replace the expertise required to build credible lifecycle cost models, interpret their outputs for decision-makers, or advise boards on capital strategy. Those tasks require professional judgement, sector knowledge and an understanding of how organisations actually make decisions. DC2O intends to remain at the forefront of responsible AI adoption, using it to strengthen our practice, not to substitute for it.

Our Commitment

DC2O commits to using AI tools only where they demonstrably improve quality or efficiency, never as a substitute for expertise, never with client data, and always with full human oversight.
